about the ISGS, watch the geologic history of Illinois come to life in
"Build Illinois", hunt for buried treasure at the "Kids' Fossil Dig",
try to stump our geologists with your questions (ask why a dinosaur
has never been found in Illinois), get up close to a drill rig that
can penetrate hundreds of feet into the Earth's surface, learn about
our state's energy resources, and much more. The 2008 ISGS Open House
will feature exhibits, demonstrations, and hands-on activities of
interest to the general public, students and teachers of all levels,
and those who may be interested in geology-related careers.
This year exhibits, activities, and hands-on demonstrations will
include:
Earth, Wind and Fire 5K Run and 2.5K Walk
